Huge business lesson you can learn from the world of DeFi trading:
If you lose a trade, don’t revenge-trade.
Or rather…. When you lose a trade, don’t ever revenge-trade. Because even the best of the best lose trades.
Take me for example. I’ve been trading throughout the bear market and I was still able to make over $200,000 from good investments and well-timed trades.
Despite the amount I’ve made, and the paid promotions from the followers I have, I still consider my failure to get make $100,000– in my first year, my biggest fail.
Regardless… trading began to go stellar for me in my 2nd year by simply executing what I call the boring basics.
In DeFi that means:
> holding that trade regardless of price dips
> DeFi researching (on chain analysis, exploring alpha groups etc)
> Doing what people get tired of doing
A regiment I still keep to this day even as an “OG”.
Now you compare that with how other traders deal with losing a trade.
Often what happens is he decides something is broken in his system or he changes his original thesis for buying a token and blocks the person who gave the token that ended up as losing trade.
He then starts adding a bunch of irrelevant things to his trading systems.
Maybe he tests out some fancy new degen research some influencer write a thread about to improve his “degen portfolio”. Or maybe he stops farming airdrops. Or maybe he tries playing crypto games.
One time I saw this happen to one trader in our group who went all in on 1 trade after we told him not to. The result? He got his psychology f*cker so bad he can’t even do normal airdrop farming tasks.
My point is this:
When you take a loss, it’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting to question and change everything in what you’re doing when what you really need to do is….
Stick to the boring basics.
I was thinking about this on my bible session today as I’ve been feeling a bit of a stall in my business.
Everything is going fine but something felt “stale” to me.
But instead of overhauling my entire system, I’ll be doubling down by going back to the boring basics which means:
> Creating more and better content
> Building and mailing my email list
> Making more and better offers
> Creating more high quality products
Content, list, offers, products.
Those are the “big 4” of what you need to win and they are all you’ll ever need.
Don’t let some shiny new tactic make you think otherwise because when you throw it all in a big pot and boil it down?
It always gets reduced to content, list, offers and product.
So that’s my message for you today.
Don’t get distracted. Stay focused. Keep it simple. Keep winning.
